Excerpt from Nomination: Blake and his entire coaching staff exemplify what it means to coach and raise young men both inside and outside of the sport. A standard has now been set not only in our minds but also the minds of the kids of what a truly great coach can mean to the development of families within sport and the benefits that extend far beyond the rink. Our kids quickly realized they were far more capable than they even believed themselves to be. It is a true talent to demonstrate and teach respect by respecting others, encourage children to push themselves while recognizing the different approaches required for each child. The way the children were coached extended to the interactions between every family member within the team guiding us all by the same principals and standards.
