Maximum # of players on the ice surface at any time?
8 players

Maximum # of coaches on the ice surface at any time?
2 coaches - coaches must now be masked while on the ice


Coaches /trainers are not included in the training group numbers as long as they are masked and maintain a minimum physical distance of three meters

Maximum # of players in a dressing room?
8 players - teams should use two dressing rooms for practice
It is important that the players are distanced in the dressing rooms also and that coaches ensure that the players stay masked in the dressing room.


Athletes 18 years of age and under may continue practicing, conditioning, and skills training in groups of eight or fewer, abiding by the required mask use and at least three meters of physical distancing between participants at all times.

How many spectators are permitted at practices?
1 spectator per player in all facilities. Spectators must propery wear thei mask at all times while in the areana.

Why are my team's ice times showing as two separate back-to-back ice times?
SMHA wanted the team Covid Reps or Team Managers to be able to set up their TeamLinkt attendance / screening based on the players / parents attending each half of the ice time.

Do U7 and U9 teams need to adhere to SHA ice standards (cross ice / half ice)?
No, all teams may use the entire ice surface but all teams must be sure that players are 3 meters apart at all times.

Can our team have battle drills or 1 on 1 drills?
No, players must maintain 3 meters distance between themselves at all times.

If our team rents private ice or heads to an outdoor rink, are we restricted to 8 players on the ice still?
Yes, any team practices must follow the same measures.

Does a bubble mask with the shield qualify as a mask?
No, per SHA, players must still wear a non-medical mask or a mask that attaches to the players cage.

Can a player skate with his or her affiliate team also?
No, players may only practice with their own team

Do the same 8 players need to stay together for all practices?
No, the make up of the players can change from practice to practice

Can players be on the ice for the entire practice?
Yes
Example 1: Team has 13 total players.  8 players may be on the ice for the first half of the practice.  The other 5 can come on for the second half with 3 remaining from the first half.  Teams can keep track and take turns with players getting the full practice time.

Exception to the above is Granatier Sportsplex - teams must put half of their players out in each half.
Granatier Example: U7 team with 12 players must have a maximum of six players on the ice surface

Example 2: Team has one goaltender and 14 skaters.  The goalie and 7 skaters can be part of the first half of practice and then the goalie can stay on the ice and practice with the other 7 players.
