SMHA has postponed all games in the U7, U9, U11 and U13 age divisions from January 12-16 inclusive...
EFFECTIVE January 12, 2022
Our covid reps are currently being overwhelmed and we require some time to process the status of teams and their ability to continue with their scheduled hockey activities . All U7, U9, U11 and U13 SMHA league games are postponed until Sunday January 16, 2022.
For league games scheduled this evening there may only be 1 team show up, if this is the case with gametime the team in attendance can use the ice time for practice.
Due to the overwhelming amount of close contacts in the schools, families and among our own hockey teams to positive cases. SMHA feels we need to pause all U7 – U13 league games up to and including Sunday January 16th. Practices will continue as scheduled for the remainder of the week for teams that are currently unaffected by positive cases or isolations.
If you currently have NO POSITIVE CASES on your team you can use the current game time for practice. If both teams have NO POSITIVE CASES on either team we would like you use the ice time for half ice practice.
TRY GOALIE DAYS UPDATE - the next two Try Goalie Days on Jan. 16 & 23 have been postponed as the kids involved are age 6-10. Last week’s had 9 goalies that had to pull the pin.
We will try to add another couple of sessions in February to make up for these if possible.
