CITY OF SASKATOON & CANLAN SPORTS LIFT PROOF OF VACCINATION POLICIES; MASKING POLICIES TO REMAIN IN PLACE

MESSAGE RECEIVED FORM THE CITY OF SASKATOON ON FEBRUARY 10, 2022:

City Council earlier this week approved at a special meeting of City Council to lift the proof of vaccination / proof of negative COVID-19  test as of February 14, 2022 at all City of Saskatoon operated facilities - including the five arenas - ACT, Archibald, Cosmo, Lions and Gordie Howe Kinsmen.

However the motion also read that masking would still be required in all City Facilities even if / once the PHO is lifted at the end of February.  City Council has requested a report monthly from the City’s ECO on all COVID 19 requirements with recommendation to continue or to change the current requirements.  When or if there is a change, we will be sure to let the users know.

Canlan Sports is also lifting their Proof of Vaccination Policy in place for those 18 & older at both Jemini and Agriplace arenas.  The masking requirement remains in place.

** Therefore, all who enter the five City of Saskatoon arenas and the two Canlan Sports facilities must continue to wear a mask at all tiems until further notice.  The only exception is still just athletes, and coaches while on the ice for practices and athletes and referees while on the ice for games.
Coaches must continue to wear a mask while on the bench for games until further notice.

SMHA hopes to hear from the University of Saskatchewan by February 11th with respect to their plans relating to Proof of Vaccination / masking and will report as soon as possible on what will be happening at Merlis Belsher Place.

Thank you.
