REGISTRATION Summary

REGISTRATION INFORMATION 2021-22

We are still anticipating a hockey season for 2021-2022 and will be taking registrations from June 1 – August 31, 2021. 
 
SMHA is working with all the zones, SHA and Hockey Canada to ensure a safe environment for all.  As information is made available, all registered players will be contacted with updates for the 2021-22 season.
 
Please ensure you read all the information before registering. A number of changes have taken place as well as reminders from recent changes. 


U7 (2015-2016) Teams will have Beginner and Advanced Levels.
  • Cross ice only and will use smaller nets and lightweight blue pucks. 
  • One referee will be assigned to each game.
  • No U7 games, exhibition, league or tournaments – until December 1
  • Maximum # of games an U7 team may play is 35 
  • Parent Information

U9 (2013-2014) - A, B, C & D levels. 
  • Pre-skates prior to evaluated sessions
  • Half ice for all U9 (A, B, C and D) for full season – includes games and practices - including private ice booked by teams for extra practices, exhibition games or tournaments. 
  • Exhibition and League Games start November 15
  • Tournaments starts December 1
  • Max 45 total games in a season

U11 (2011 - 2012) - A, B, C & D levels.
  • New U11 pathway that will see a later calendar start for games and a cap on games
  • Pre-skates prior to evaluated sessions

U13 (2009 – 2010) - AA (City-Wide), A (Hybrid), B & C levels.
  • Hybrid A teams (Wild and Renegades zones) - This program is to create stronger feeder leagues for AA programs at this level. 
  • No additional tryout fee for Hybrid A
  • U13 and U15 city wide goalie evaluations for all goalies in U13 & U15

U15 (2007-2008) - AA (City-Wide), A (Hybrid), B & C levels.
  • Hybrid A teams (Wild and Renegades zones) - This program is to create stronger feeder leagues for AA programs at this level. 
  • U15 B & C will be non-contact.
  • U13 and U15 city wide goalie evaluations for all goalies in U13 & U15

U18 (2004 - 2006) - AAA, AA (City-Wide), A, B & C levels.
  • U18 A, B, C are similar in games/practices and therefore, will be the same cost. 
  • U18 B & C will be non-contact. 

GOALIES FOR U13 AND U15 
U11 and U15 Goalies skills will be evaluated in a city-wide format. Scores will be used appropriately to place goalies in their home zone or on one of the hybrid A teams. Goalies will also be evaluated during tryout scrimmages in their home zone and/or hybrid A scrimmages. 
 

Registration Information
Please read the following BEFORE registering for the 2021-22 season.
 
Registration is open from June 1 – August 31, 2021

Registration Deadline: August 31, 2021
If you miss registering your player, there may be an opportunity to late register; however, your player may not play within the Wild zone as all late registrations are placed by SMHA to zones requiring players at each division and level. Late Applications will be accepted by SMHA after September 1, 2021. Details will be provided by SMHA on their website. 

SMHA Zones
  • Please check SMHA Rezoning boundaries if you are unsure of your Zone to Register with. ​ 
  • Forest Grove is no longer within the Wild Zone and is now within the Redwings zone. 
REGISTRATION Information
  • No player will be allowed on the ice for evaluation skates or selected for teams if fees are not paid in full.
  • GSHL Citywide - If your player wishes to try out for GSHL (City-Wide) AA U13, AA U15 or AAA U18 hockey, player must be registered separately with GSHL for tryouts as well as registered in his or her home zone. If your player is registering/registered for GSHL Citywide Tryouts, please check the box for "Cash / Cheque" Payments. 
  • Evaluation dates, groupings and ice times will be posted on the Zone X Wild website closer to the dates.
GOALIE Information
  • If you are thinking of trying out/interested in playing a goalie (particularly U9 or U11), or any other information that is relevant to your child's tryouts, training, or game play, please enter on the registration form. This is to help the coordinators/coaches with planning. 
RETURNING PLAYER (registered in Zone X Wild last year)
  • You will need your access code. To retrieve your access code, go to Player Online Registration page and click the question “What’s my Access Code”. 
  • You will be taken to a new page where you will be required to enter the player’s name and date of birth and click submit.   Enter the information requested, click “Submit”, and the access code will be e-mailed to “Parent 1” (as registered in prior year).
  • Once the access code is received return to the Player Online Registration, complete all of the information and click “Submit Access Code”.
  • You will then be allowed to update player, parent and registration information as necessary.  You will be given the opportunity to enter payment information during the enrolment process.
  • If you do not receive an access code, please contact the Registrar
NEW PLAYER (did not register in Zone X Wild last year.)
  • If you are a new player registrant – the “Access Code” & “Submit Access Code” button does not apply to you the first time you are registering.  The Access code will allow you to bring up the information we have on file once you have registered.
  • To register a new player to the Zone X Wild, go to the Player Online Registration page and answer “NO” to the question “Are you a returning player?” Proceed to complete all of the player and parent information.  Once completed, the registration confirmation and payment receipt for credit cards will be e-mailed to Parent 1.
PAYMENT Information – Please read in full before registering
  • No player will be allowed on the ice for evaluation skates if fees are not paid in full.
  • Payment must be received by full registration fee OR Installments 
  • All credit card payments are made through StackPay and are initiated by the registration process. Installment payments will be processed on initial payments (upon registration), August 1 and September 1. 
  • Offline Payment is used ONLY for:
    • Paying by cash, cheque, bingo credits, Kidsport (or another third party payment) OR
    • If your player is registering for GSHL Citywide Tryouts. No fees are payable to the Wild Zone UNLESS your child has been released back to the Zone after AA tryouts and team selections are complete. 
  • Payment, either by installments or the full fee, or indication of application to a financial assistance program (Kidsport, Jumpstart, etc.) must be received in order for the player to attend evaluations. If you are applying for financial assistance it is expected that your application will be completed before evaluations. This includes ensuring the Treasurer has received confirmation from financial assistance program of your application being reviewed and timing of amounts to be paid.  Any player who has not met this requirement will not be allowed to participate in evaluations, which in turn may affect their team placement.
  • Other Assistance Payments – If a portion of the player's hockey fees are being paid by a third party, such as KidSport , Jumpstart or Lace' Em Up when the registration form is completed, it is expected that you apply early so your application will be completed before evaluationsThis includes ensuring the Wild Treasurer has received confirmation from financial assistance program of your application being reviewed and the timing of amount to be paid.  Please contact the Wild Treasurer with any information.  Any player who has not met this requirement will not be allowed to participate in evaluations, which in turn may affect their team placement.
  • Bingo Credits – The amount of bingo credits for the current hockey season will be determined at a later date, and the player's parent will be contacted with the amount.  This information has been made available to the Wild Treasurer by September long weekend based on prior years.  Until this is received from the Bingo Coordinator the Wild Treasurer has no information of what bingo credits will be applied to a player's fees.
